Nuremburg!  What an incredible place.  In February 2017 the Biofach & Vivaness exhibition was held in the German city of Nuremburg.  Although not as large as the Expo West event held in March this year, this is still an exhibition of gigantic scale.   2785 exhibitors (Expo West had 3100) from over 80 countries with a strong emphasis on natural, organic products.  This year saw a record 51 thousand visitors over the 4 days it was open.

Although there were a wide variety of countries present, there was a strong presence of European exhibitors, which made it a great place to get insights into the European market – one that in the organic sector is growing year on year.

There was a very complete schedule of debates and presentations, both at the official presentation stages as well as at exhibitor’s stands, including a presentation from the Bolivian Chia growers association outlining some of the many challenges they face in the Chia market: low prices, difficult product to get right & differences in laboratory results on organic products.  These challenges are the same for most growers in the South American region.

We held many discussions at the show with growers and customers, as well as professionals such as labs and quality control agents, which really helped confirm and adjust our chia plans for 2017.

The Novelty stand at the entrance of the exhibition gave a great overview of innovative products that were being promoted at the show.
