Our Red Kidney Beans are a variety of the common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), native to South America. Kidney beans are a good source of several vitamins and minerals, such as molybdenum, folate, iron, copper, manganese, potassium, vitamin K1 and phosphorus.
These popular beans are kidney shaped and are especially good in simmered dishes where they absorb the flavors of seasonings and the other foods with which they are cooked.
Our Red Kidney Beans are typically harvested at complete maturity as dry beans, requiring around 95 days from germination to harvest, we can offer both conventional and organic.
TradeLink International sources their beans from the northern regions of Argentina, mainly Salta, but also regions such as Tucuman and neighbouring regions.
Each order is tested regardless of whether the batch has already been tested and we look for moisture content to be below 18% as well as pesticides and heavy metals, all of which must comply with the legislation of the country of destination for it to pass our QA controls.
